How to Save WhatsApp Statuses to Phone Without Apps
What is WhatsApp?
WhatsApp is a well-known
free messaging application with more than 5 billion downloads in the Google Play
store. WhatsApp LLC provides WhatsApp Apps for Android, IOS, Windows, and also
a WhatsApp Web version. Other than messaging and calling, you can upload
stories or statuses to WhatsApp as your friend can see. One major question from
WhatsApp users around the world is, “How to save WhatsApp statuses to the phone?”.
So, today we are going to talk about “How to save WhatsApp statuses to the
phone, without any software”.
When you open a
status from one of your contacts, you can see it will download. But you cannot
see the downloaded WhatsApp status in your gallery even after downloading.
However, did you know all these status, pictures, and videos, are saved in your
phone’s storage temporarily?
Why can't we see the WhatsApp Statuses in the gallery?
Although WhatsApp
statuses will save to the phone, they will be saved in a hidden folder. That is
why we cannot see the downloaded WhatsApp statuses in the gallery.
Where is the WhatsApp folder
Located?
Before 2021, the WhatsApp
application saved its data in a separate folder in the main directory named
WhatsApp. But after 2021, you may not see a WhatsApp folder in the main
directory because it has been moved into the Android folder on your device. WhatsApp
folder can be accessed through the following path.
“Android
> Media > com.whatsapp >
WhatsApp”
Saving WhatsApp statuses
As we discussed before,
the folder where WhatsApp statuses are saved is hidden. To see the hidden
folders, you have to set your file explorer’s setting to “Show Hidden Folders”.
Generally, you can find that setting in the file explorer
settings. Maybe you have to go to Display settings and find the show the hidden folders.
1. Once you select “Show
Hidden Folders”, you will see a folder named “.Statuses” in the path, “Android
> Media > com.whatsApp >
WhatsApp > Media”
Note: Saved statuses will be automatically deleted from the “.Status”
folder after 24 hours
3. Copy the status or
statuses you want to keep.4. Go to the folder
you want to save the copied files and paste them. Since the copied WhatsApp
statuses are not in the “.Statuses” folder, they will not be deleted
automatically.
That's all for it and I believe you got the procedure to save WhatsApp statuses. Install no more
apps to save WhatsApp statuses. Do it smart! Thank you for reading and hope to
see you with another interesting article. And do not forget to post a comment if you are having any questions. I am more than happy to answer!
